Dog owners have always assumed that cats are smarter creatures, however research found that dogs are way smarter than cats!

The reason being dogs smarter than cats, is that how much more cortical neurons dogs have in their brain over cats, these neurons make the pet think and plan and do complex behavior, and the overall intelligence of the pet.

For context dogs have about 530 million neurons, while cats have about 250 million which almost half what dogs have, on the other hand, the human brain packs 16 billion cortical neurons, almost 30 times dog neurons and 64 times cat’s, and that’s according to
a study by Vanderbilt.

In a study conducted by the researcher Suzana Herculano who’s an associate professor of psychology and biological sciences, the advantage dogs will have over cats thanks to their superior neuron number is they will the biological capability of doing much more complex and flexible things with their lives than cats can.
